The Pharmacy Board has issued a reminder that pharmacists don’t have long to renew their registration
Pharmacists have until 30 November 2019 to renew their registration on time, the Board says.
“More than 30,100 pharmacists hold general or non-practising registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia,” says the Board.
It says that the quickest and easiest way to renew is online.
However, renewal applications received in December will incur a late payment fee in addition to the annual renewal fee, it warns – a fact outlined in the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law.
“Pharmacists whose application is received on time, or during the following one-month late period, can continue practising while their application is processed,” it says.
“Pharmacists who do not apply to renew their registration by 31 December 2019 will have lapsed registration.
“They will be removed from the Register of Pharmacists and will not be able to practise their profession in Australia.”
