Retailers without strong connections suffer: TWC

More than 500 pharmacists and pharmacy professionals across the TerryWhite Chemmart network are in Melbourne to hear from pharmacy industry leaders

The pharmacists are visiting as part of TerryWhite Chemmart’s annual Masterclass event, which goes over three days.

The event opened with TerryWhite Chemmart CEO Duncan Phillips addressing the room on the importance of customer connection in today’s rapidly changing world.

“The retail landscape is changing at an incredible pace and we have seen many examples this year of retailers without strong customer connections suffering,” said Mr Phillips.

“Our annual Masterclass event is critical to empowering our pharmacists to not only be better health professionals but to build stronger and more lasting connections with their customers. In this new decade, personal delivery is key.”

Mr Phillips spoke about harnessing the strength of the group of pharmacists not only in the room but across the network to prepare for the arrival of eScripts and growth of the online prescription marketplace.

“We want to see our pharmacies continue to lead in the areas of immunisation, pharmacist accessibility, medication safety and in our destination categories such as pain and weight but we are also focussed on ensuring the customer experience is the best it can be,” he said.

“We are doing this by providing convenience through such things as our health app, a strong focus on DAAs, home delivery and click & collect.

“Our network of pharmacists are 100% committed to strengthening the ties in their local communities.”

The TerryWhite Chemmart Masterclass concludes on Wednesday 5th March with the announcement of the 2020 TerryWhite Chemmart Pharmacist of the year.
