The Star Pharmacy Group has named its top performers

“Star Pharmacy Group have experienced a remarkable year and in the light of that we are proud, pleased and excited to announce our award winners for 2018,” said Stan Kontos, Executive Chairman, Star Pharmacy Group.

Peter Gardiakos, Executive Director, Star Pharmacy Group, said he was proud to lead such a talented and driven team.

The group held its annual three-day event, consisting of shareholders’ conference, pharmacist manager’s conference, and awards night attended by some 380 guests from all states at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

The Pharmacy of the Year award, judged on both financial and operational performance and a reflection on the pharmacy’s teams embracing Star Pharmacy Group values and standards, went toStar Discount Chemist West Ryde NSW– Azzam Elasmar (Pharmacist Manager) and Sarah Martin (Retail Manager)

Pharmacist Manager of the Year, for leadership qualities and a “can do” attitude, was Eddie Yau, from Priceline Caloundra QLD.

Retail Manager of the Year saw joint winners named: Star Discount Chemist Emu Park QLD’s Ingrid Murphy and Star Discount Chemist Salisbury East SA’s Dawn Stopforth.

The title of Innovative Pharmacy, which recognises a pharmacy for its outstanding achievements in innovation, including optimised patient care, pharmacy services and improved customer service experience, went to Star Discount Chemist Arana Hills QLD – An Wilson (Pharmacist Manager) and Carla McConarchy (Retail Manager).

Pharmacy Assistant of the Year was Star Discount Chemist West Ryde NSW’s Savyo Disho.

The Intern of the Year and Preceptor Award went to Stacey Gardiakos from the Star Discount Chemist Croydon SA (intern) and Luke Campbell from the Star Discount Chemist North Ward QLD (Pharmacist Manager Preceptor).

National Support Office Employee of the Year went to Virginie Richardson in Accounts.

The Star Pharmacy Group operates 50 stores nationwide in NSW, QLD and SA.

The Star Discount Chemist brand has grown to 32 stores in SA, NSW & QLD, most recently opening on Bribie Island (QLD) in October 2018.
