SSSI issued for simvastatin


Shortage of Zimstat (simvastatin) 5 mg prompts Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, to issue SSSI  Pharmacists are being authorised to dispense substitutable alternatives to Alphapharm’s Zimstat 5 mg tablet blister pack, following the announcement that the product is in shortage.  The Therapeutic Goods Administration’s (TGA’s) Medicine Shortages hub noted that a Serious Scarcity Substitution Instrument (SSSI) was implemented for the product from Friday 5 December 2025, in response to shortages.   Under the SSSI, pharmacists will be allowed
