The Pharmacy Guild has announced that Minister for Health Sussan Ley will present a keynote address at APP2016 on Thursday 17 March.

With many components of the health system under review, this keynote address will be of significant interest to APP attendees, says the Guild.

APP Chairman Kos Sclavos says that given this is a Federal Election year APP provides a timely opportunity for pharmacists to hear from the Federal Minister for Health and to hear the Coalition’s view on community pharmacy .

“With a number of changes to the industry, including the $1 co-payment discount, the continued impact of price disclosure, and professional services opportunities from the 6CPA, the keynote address from the Hon. Sussan Ley will be a ‘not to be missed’ session at APP2016,” says Sclavos.

“I am delighted that the Minister will once again be attending APP and look forward to her address,” he says.

The Minister for Health will also present the winner of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia’s Pharmacy of the Year Award.

The award recognises community pharmacy businesses who go above and beyond to ensure consumers of professional pharmacy based health services receive the best care, medication and advice.

APP2016 will be held from Thursday 17 March – Sunday 20 March at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.
