The TGA has asked people in possession of Maxman XI tablets to bring them to their pharmacy for safe disposal
The TGA issued a statement saying that it has tested a product labelled Maxman XI tablets and found that they contain the undeclared substance sildenafil.
It notes that the supply of Maxman XI tablets containing the undisclosed sildenafil is illegal and that the active ingredient is prescription-only in Australia.
“These Maxman XI tablets have not been assessed by the TGA for quality, safety or efficacy as required under Australian legislation, and the place of manufacture is not approved by the TGA,” it says.
The TGA is asking people who have the tablets to immediately stop taking them and bring them to their local pharmacy for disposal.
If they have any concerns arising from their use of the drug they are encouraged to consult their health care practitioner.
