The TGA has issued safety alerts regarding Vegetal Vigra, Stree Overlord Strong Tablets and Black Ant King Tablets
Vegetal Vigra capsules, Stree Overlord Strong tablets and Black Ant King tablets pose a serious health risk, the TGA says, and should not be taken.
It is asking people who have purchased the products to stop taking them and bring them to their local pharmacy for safe disposal.
Regarding Vegetal Vigra, TGA testing uncovered the undeclared sildenafil, which is a prescription-only substance in Australia.
“Vegetal Vigra capsules have not been assessed by the TGA for quality, safety or efficacy as required under Australian legislation, and the place of manufacture is not approved by the TGA,” the TGA says.
“TGA investigations have shown that a number of people in Australia may have bought the product online.”
Undisclosed sildenafil was also found on testing in Stree Overlord Strong tablets.
Black Ant King tablets were found in TGA testing to contain both sildenafil and chloramphenicol.
The latter is prescription only when not being used for ophthalmic purposes.
The TGA is again advising consumers to exercise extreme caution when purchasing medicines from unknown overseas Internet sites, as these may contain undisclosed and potentially harmful ingredients and may not meet the same standards of quality, safety and efficacy as those approved by the TGA for supply in Australia.
It warned consumers that TGA is working with the Australian Border Force to help stop future shipments of both products, and if these are found at the border they will be seized and destroyed.
