What are the 10 new additions to the Prescribing Medicines in Pregnancy database?
The TGA has announced that 10 medicines are being added to its Prescribing Medicines in Pregnancy database.
According to the TGA, this categorisation system and database for prescribing medicines in pregnancy has been developed by “medical and scientific experts based on available evidence of risks associated with taking particular medicines while pregnant”.
The 10 medicines are:
- brexpiprazole (pregnancy category C)
- dulaglutide (pregnancy category B3)
- empagliflozin / linagliptin (pregnancy category D)
- lonoctocog alfa (pregnancy category B2)
- palbociclib (pregnancy category D)
- sebelipase alfa (pregnancy category B1)
- silodosin (pregnancy category B3)
- sodium phenylbutyrate (pregnancy category B3)
- teduglutide (pregnancy category B1)
- trifluridine / tipiracil hydrochloride (pregnancy category D)
