Victorian pharmacists have dug deep to support disadvantaged children’s education

Earlier this year, the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, Victoria Branch fundraised $20,000 in support of Mirabel foundation at their annual Charity Gala Dinner.

Today, Jill Hennessy, Victorian Minister for Health, handed over the fundraising cheque to Jane Rowe, CEO of the Mirabel Foundation, who thanked the pharmacist for their support.

The funds aim to assist families with the costs associated with providing children with educational support.

Highlighting the work that the Mirabel Foundation is doing to support young children effected due to parental drug use, Minister Hennessey said, “It is delightful to see the Pharmacy Guild putting their hand out to support the Mirabel Foundation through fundraising at the Guild Charity Gala Dinner.

“Pharmacists work to support the community every day and this is a great sign of their generosity towards those who need support.”

Jane Rowe said she was very grateful for the donation and thanked the Pharmacy Guild and pharmacists for their continued support.

“At the end of the day it’s about the community coming together to help those that are disadvantaged and giving them a voice and making a mighty difference in their lives,” she said.

The Guild says it firmly believes the greatest gift we can provide a child in need is a good education and will continue to support Mirabel’s children.
