Waikiki Discount Drug Stores has been named DDS’ Pharmacy of the Year at the banner group’s conference in New Caledonia
DDS announced its national store awards and national supplier partner awards at the event.
Doug Kuskopf-Dallas, General Manager of the Discount Pharmacy Retail Group, said the Pharmacy of the Year Award recognises the exceptional customer service Waikiki Discount Drug Store offers its customers and community.
“Our brand values and core mission at Discount Drug Stores is about making a positive difference to our customers’ and community’s wellbeing,” he said.
“Waikiki Discount Drug Store not only embodies and exemplifies these values, but the team has shown consistent commitment to providing the high-quality of healthcare to every single customer.
“It’s this dedication to their customers and to providing their community with quality healthcare services which has seen them beat out over 150 other stores in our network to win the Pharmacy of the Year award.”
The store’s pharmacist Penny Caine was also announced as the National Pharmacy Assistant of the Year award winner.
Pease St Discount Drug Store was awarded the inaugural National Innovation Award. Menai Discount Drug Store took out the National Professional Services Award and Highfields Discount Drug Store received the National Service Excellence Award.
Individuals were also honoured at the event, with Peter Nguyen from Menai Discount Drug Stores named Pharmacist of the Year and Sarah Richardson of Fernvale Discount Drug Stores named Retail Manager of the Year.
Sanofi Consumer Healthcare was awarded Supplier of the Year.
Mr Kuskopf-Dallas said the supplier award recognises the strength of the partnership built between Discount Drug Stores and Sanofi.
“The retail industry is forever changing, which means strong supplier partnerships are necessary in order to meet these challenging market conditions and to maximise business opportunities,” he said.
“Sanofi’s commitment to not only growing over the counter lines with our business but also for supporting our network in delivering professional services, such as sponsoring our diabetes clinics, has been vital in our ability to grow and strengthen our brand year on year.
Sanofi also took home the Professional Services Supplier Award and the Natural Health Supplements Supplier Award.
GSK took out the Medicines Supplier Award and Proctor & Gamble received the Beauty Supplier and Front Shop Supplier Award.
Mr Kuskopf-Dallas said the awards are a way to celebrate and recognise the achievements of both exceptional stores, exceptional individuals and supplier partnerships in the network.
“Over the past 10 conferences we have seen the network grow stronger and stronger, and we couldn’t be prouder to work with such talented and dedicated teams,” he said.
