Winning pharmacist has DAA, autism focus

TerryWhite Chemmart has announced its HEART awards, giving its highest honour to South Australian pharmacy owner Matt Boulter

The TerryWhite Chemmart Network Partner conference wrapped up this week with a gala dinner held on the Gold Coast and the announcement of Award winners for 2019. The TerryWhite Chemmart HEART Awards cover recognition across health, customer engagement, service and leadership.

The most prestigious award of the year – the TerryWhite Chemmart Rhonda White Leadership Award was won by Matt Boulter, an owner pharmacist for Marion Compounding in South Australia for 10 years.

Nominated for the last two years, Mr Boulter said he was thrilled to take out the Leadership Award this year which recognises, amongst other achievements, his work in building a large and highly successful DAA and residential care business in his community of Marion.

“It is an absolute honour to be recognised by TerryWhite Chemmart for this award and to be up there with the likes of Judy Plunkett who won it last year is absolutely humbling,” said Mr Boulter.

Committed to making a difference in community pharmacy, Mr Boulter works directly with many local groups including establishing a 12-year partnership with Minda – the biggest disability service provider in South Australia. Mr Boulter is also a strong advocate for autism services, raising awareness through staff training and by building an autism-friendly environment in store.

TerryWhite Chemmart CEO Duncan Phillips said he was immensely proud of Mr Boulter and all that he has achieved in his community.

“Matt is definitely someone who knows what it means to build meaningful connections in his local community. Matt is one of the nicest, humblest people you would care to meet, but his passion and determination to deliver for his customers and community in Marion is extremely impressive”, said Mr Phillips.

“He is highly motivated and committed to investing in his team, store and community. He is absolutely worthy of this recognition and we are proud to have Matt’s leadership in our network.”

Megan McWaters from Kapunda in Queensland won the Retail Leadership Award – a new award to 2019 – which recognises the pharmacy team leader who consistently leads their team by example.

The National Pharmacy of the Year award was won by TerryWhite Chemmart Browns Plains, Qld for customer service excellence led by owner Frank Uccellini; and the Improvement Award was won by the team from TerryWhite Chemmart Wodonga, VIC. Supplier Awards were also issued on the night to Arrotex for Best Supplier Representative Support, Bayer for Best Pharmacy Promotion and Ego Pharmaceuticals for Supplier of the Year.
