Pharmacy services provider HPS has announced the appointment of Alan Tuxford to the new role of Director of Pharmacy Practice.

Tuxford will bring extensive experience in pharmacy operations to the role, having spent more than 20 years working in the pharmacy industry here and internationally, HPS says.

“As Director of Pharmacy Practice I look forward to focussing my efforts on further developing and improving HPS’ pharmacy practice systems and clinical governance framework so that positive patient outcomes, quality use of medicines and medication safety remain at the forefront of our service delivery,” Tuxford says.

“I will work closely with our clients’ quality directors to facilitate further collaboration between hospital and pharmacy around clinical alignment as we continue to grow.”

HPS Chief Operating Officer Jeremy Stones says he is confident HPS clients and its network of pharmacies will benefit from the appointment.

“Alan’s ability to develop innovation within pharmacy and his keen interest in utilising technology to deliver the highest quality pharmacy services will be invaluable to HPS moving forward,” Stones says.

“HPS has undergone tremendous growth over the past 12 months and Alan’s appointment reinforces our position as a market leading pharmacy services provider.

“It is an exciting time for HPS and we welcome the expertise that Alan will contribute as we continue to expand our national presence.”
