Who will be Health Minister?

Now that the dust is settling after the Coalition’s narrow victory, attention remains on the role health care played in the July 2 election.

Last week PharmaDispatch reported that Sussan Ley was “untenable” in the role of the Health Minister and this week speculated about her silence since the election.

According to AJP industry sources Ley is arguing strongly to retain the role.

Ajp.com.au readers have also been speculating about Ley’s future.

“Anyone who attended Budget Night or watched it on TV may have noticed the frosty atmosphere between Prime Minister and his Health Minister,” reader Karalyn Huxhagen wrote in our forum.

“Since then there has been a few inklings and rumblings that delivery of outcomes has not been met for MBS expenditure and she has not made the inroads needed to have a firm control on health expenditure (not an easy task for anyone to achieve).”

Who do you think will be the next Health Minister?
