Staff at a South Carolina drugstore got a surprise this week when they saw their first customer for the day

It’s not uncommon to see customers waiting patiently outside a pharmacy, waiting for it to open.

Unless, of course, one of those customers is an alligator.

Staff at the Ulmer Family Pharmacy and Wellness Center in South Carolina posted an image of their visitor on Facebook, showing it comfortably parked in the first car space outside the pharmacy.

“First customer of the day!! Oh my!” they wrote.

“Don’t worry he was moved to a near by pond. He just wanted to check out the new pharmacy in town.

“Happy Monday everyone!!”

Customers suggested that the gator may have already heard positive things about the new pharmacy.

“He heard what a wonderful staff they had and how hands on they are,” wrote Tina McCoy on Facebook. “Figured they would help him pickup some sunscreen.”

The American alligator is often found in South Carolina, though not usually waiting outside its pharmacies.
