Women in pharmacy meet in Yarra Valley

Women in pharmacy meet at Medici's June 2017 event.

The second Women’s Discussion Group Conference Retreat saw pharmacists attend from around the country

The conference, held at Chateau Yering in the Yarra Valley, was “the perfect mix of learning and pleasure,” said host Medici Capital, with two full days of conference sessions and a three-course dinner and wine tasting in the wine region.

An “impressive” number of female pharmacists attended the conference, it said.

The attendees worked on several different topics to take back to their pharmacies and have given feedback that the conference was a great experience.

“I came away from the conference feeling extremely motivated and enthusiastic about the industry and my business. I found the conference to be invaluable to me as a pharmacy owner,” said one attendee, Vikki from Queensland.

Medici Capital has thanked Priceline, Attain Business Brokers, Pearls Limited and Pharmacium, who were among the sponsors who contributed to the success of the conference retreat.

The event and the Women’s Discussion Group saw excellent support from all over the pharmacy community, it said.

Medici Capital said it is excited to continue to grow the Women’s Discussion Group and encourage more women in pharmacy to get involved.

“Next years Women’s Conference Retreat will be bigger and better!” it said.

Question: In an industry where majority of pharmacists are female, isn’t it sexist to hold a female only conference? Can you imagine the media outcry if civil engineers held a men only conference!

    • Curtis Watson

      Answer: No.

    • Andrew

I reckon “Men Only” is a redundant label at a Civil Engineering conference.
