Apotex recalls Terry White Chemists brand children’s ibuprofen

Symbion product recall - man by words "product recall"

Apotex has recalled a batch of Terry White Chemists branded ibuprofen children’s suspension.

As with the recall earlier this week of Symbion ibuprofen and paracetamol products, the safety concern pertains to the bottle grooves.

It was identified that bottle grooves that secure the lids on the products could break off during opening.

There is a risk that small pieces of plastic could be ingested if the user does not identify the issue, potentially posing a choking hazard.

The affected products are 200 ml bottles with the batch number IA50043.

The above batch was manufactured in the same facility as the products affected by the earlier recall action. No other batches of Terry White Chemists branded ibuprofen children’s suspension are affected.

The TGA says health professionals who become aware that a customer has a bottle with the effected batch number should return it to the place of purchase or call Apotex on 1800 276 839.
