Female-majority Board at Capital

The Capital Chemist pharmacy group has announced the election of a new board

“The leadership change represents the face of our industry and the Capital Chemist ownership mix,” says Group Business Manager Andrew Topp.

“The majority of our board is made up of women, as is the ownership of Capital Chemist across the country; 40% of our board are pharmacy owners early in their career; and 40% of our board are from rural locations.”

The new elected board of Capital Chemist Pty Ltd comprises:

  • Elise Apolloni – Capital Chemist Wanniassa ACT
  • Sandra Ferrington – Capital Chemist Kingston ACT
  • Ben Gilbert – Capital Chemist Bruce ACT
  • Marcus Heiner – Capital Chemist Bathurst NSW
  • Catherine Yee – Capital Chemist Bowral NSW

“It is an exciting time to be in the community pharmacy industry, to be a Capital Chemist and to be constantly innovating,” Board chairperson Sandra Ferrington says.

“We hope to continue to encourage and support inspiring like-minded pharmacists across the country into pharmacy ownership, with less requirement for substantial personal savings.

“This is our philosophy—giving access to pharmacy ownership to the best person for the job.”
