“If you are feeling undervalued by your employer, why do you stay? Aside from the legal aspect to it, the reason employers may pay so low is because someone is willingly accepting it. Talk with your employer and negotiate a fair wage or walk away. ‘If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys’ comes to mind.
“In our pharmacy group, we don’t pay less than $33/hr for a pharmacist and $35/hr for a PIC in the city. This is much higher for regional areas (<200k from city). The vast majority of employers are very reasonable and pay well above award….”
