Terry White was in Coffs Harbour this week to launch the first store in a new pharmacy concept: Terry White Express.
The new shop is set to be the first of a number of small-format pharmacies with a strong slant towards speedy prescription fulfilment, health advice and a S2/S3 front of shop focus.
“It’s a small format that can be anything between 50 square meters and 120 square metres,” Terry White told the AJP.
“It’s all about providing an express service for customers who are just getting their routine prescriptions done, who don’t want to hang around forever, particularly if they’ve been waiting around in the medical centre for a long time.
“The pharmacy uses robotisation in the dispensary, which frees the pharmacist up to spend quality time with the patient, when it’s appropriate.”
White says that Terry White Express pharmacies will be located in carefully-chosen, convenient locations; the Coffs Harbour store is located at the town’s Park Beach Plaza.
“It’s a large shopping centre, and while there’s a lot of people wanting advice from the pharmacist or prescription dispensing, they don’t necessarily want to go inside and use the internal shopping centre pharmacy unless they’re already going in to get the weekly shopping,” he explains.
“If they’re not feeling well, people want to get their script and go home. That’s a part of the concept. Here, they can just drive, park outside, get their script done and away they go.”
The 100 square metre store features “micro categories” in front of shop, which still give the consumer a comprehensive offer, but not to the extent of a full Terry White Chemist.
“There’s a very heavy focus on health, a pretty solid nutraceuticals range, vitamins and supplements as well… and if you really want a lipstick, we’ll have one, but not a big range.”
