Hunt to headline Guild dinner

The Pharmacy Guild of Australia’s Annual Parliamentary Dinner in September will feature a keynote speech by the Minister for Health Greg Hunt

The Pharmacy Guild has confirmed that Minister Hunt has accepted the Guild’s invitation to deliver the main address at the dinner on September 10 in the Great Hall of Parliament House, Canberra.

The acting National President of the Guild, Trent Twomey, said the Guild was delighted that Minister Hunt has accepted this opportunity to speak at this important annual event.

“It reflects the Coalition Government’s ongoing commitment and support for community pharmacy that Minister Hunt will attend and deliver a major address in this important year for Australia’s 5700 community pharmacies,” Mr Twomey said

“Community pharmacies play a crucial role in Australia’s health system, and with a new Community Pharmacy Agreement scheduled to be in place by mid-2020, there’s no better time for the Guild and our members to hear at first hand the views and priorities of Australia’s Minister for Health,” he said.

The Guild’s Annual Parliamentary Dinner is attended by politicians from across the political spectrum, as well as pharmacy industry representatives and other health and community service leaders.
