New opportunity for PhD – Industry Scholarship in pharmacy professional services

UTS: Pharmacy in conjunction with Ventura Health is offering a unique opportunity for a pharmacist to become deeply involved in professional pharmacy services. Specifically, the proposed research and practice is focused on the designing, development, evaluation and implementation of pharmacy services for patients within the community pharmacy setting.

Working with Ventura Health and UTS: Pharmacy you will be responsible for assisting pharmacy owners, managers and employee pharmacists implement services and the same time generating evidence around the integration of these innovative services into daily pharmacy practice routines. By combining pharmacy practice research with actual practice you will acquire great expertise on the management and delivery of professional services, an expanding area which the profession has identified as its future.

This PhD project offers a unique combination of professional practice, industry and research experience. Half of your time will be spent at Ventura Health, a leading multi-brand group that provides support services to more than 70 pharmacies.  The remaining time will be spent at UTS as part of an internationally renowned team of pharmacy practice researchers. Under the guidance of your supervisors, you will have scope to focus your thesis topic on an area of great interest and see your research being applied in practice

The successful candidate
The successful candidate will have a passion for innovation in pharmacy services.  They will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and problem solving skills and will ideally have professional experience in a community pharmacy.

This research will be supervised by Professor Charlie Benrimoj and Dr Victoria Garcia Cardenas, UTS: Pharmacy and Eden Simon, Professional Services Manager, Ventura Health.

This scholarship is part of the UTS Industrial PhD program. It is available immediately and valued at $45,000 per annum (tax exempt) for 3 years, subject to satisfactory progress.
