Pharmacy-based practitioner recognised

Capital Chemist Wanniassa has congratulated an award-winning practitioner from among its ranks

Nurse Practitioner Chris Helms was recently awarded the prestigious ‘Nurse Practitioner of the Year’ at the annual Australian College of Nurse Practitioners National Conference held in Melbourne this month.

Capital Chemist Wanniassa congratulated Mr Helms who struck a partnership recently with the pharmacy, using one of its consultation rooms two days a week to be available to the public and complement other local primary health care services.

“We are so inspired and proud to have Chris working with our team, and for his recent recognition being named Nurse Practitioner of the Year,” said Elise Apolloni, Managing Partner of Capital Chemist Wanniassa.

“Our community appreciates having Chris’s service at their fingertips. We have been overwhelmed with the response to his ‘Bridging Healthcare’ clinic which commenced six weeks ago.”

On being recognised, Mr Helms simply said: “I am very humbled.”

The ‘Bridging Healthcare’ Clinic continues to be available to the public on Mondays and Tuesdays at Capital Chemist Wanniassa.
