Vote in our poll and tell us how high your pharmacy’s rent is
Pharmacy’s under pressure from all sides: PBS reforms, high-cost new drugs and a stagnating retail environment.
One element of these pressures is rarely talked about, however: the rent. Last year the Pharmacy Rental Report 2016 Update showed that pharmacy rents are at their highest in a decade and even outstripping the Consumer Price Index; the report’s co-author, Phil Chapman, told us that rents are “definitely overcooked”.
And earlier this year, high rent was implicated in the liquidation of Terry White Chemists and Priceline in Stockland Rockhampton.
We’d like to know about your situation. Vote in the poll below and let us know how your rent is impacting you.
