The former Branch Committee member of the Guild’s South Australian Branch, Adelaide pharmacist Scott McGregor, has been awarded the Barry Schultz medal for 2015.
The medal is awarded to a pharmacist deemed to have demonstrated the qualities that made the late Barry Schultz such a distinguished pharmacist and community member.
The Branch Director of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia (SA), Michael Robertson, highlighted McGregor’s achievements during a distinguished career in community pharmacy including being a Managing Director of the Chemplus Group, as well as a long term service to the Pharmacy Guild of Australia.
He was a member of the Branch Committee and National Council for many years, including a directorship of Gold Cross.
“He is a deserved winner of this award, reflecting his commitment and contribution to our industry,” says Robertson.
The medal was awarded to McGregor at the opening ceremony for the new premises of the Pharmacy Guild of Aust (SA) by Sussan Ley, Minister for Health.
Also in attendance were several representatives of the Schultz family. Other nominees included the Branch President of the Pharmacy Guild of Aust (SA) Nick Panayiaris and Tim Siv, a community pharmacist from Clare.
Scott McGregor stepped aside from Branch Committee duties at the last elections in 2014, although he remains a key mentor to the Branch Committee and its members.
