The Pharmacy Guild of Australia and the APP organising committee have announced that the Federal Minister for Health, the Hon Greg Hunt MP, will attend APP2017
APP Chairman Kos Sclavos says that the Minister will present a keynote address at a specially arranged timeslot of 8:30am on Thursday 9 March.
“We are proud to continue our tradition of having the Federal Minister for Health speak at our conference.
“Minister Hunt is keen to hear from community pharmacy. As such, we have reworked the Thursday program to enable Minister Hunt to open the conference and present the Pharmacy of the Year Award from 8:30am – 9:15am on Thursday 9 March.
“Full program updates will be provided to delegates, however I encourage all delegates to visit www.appconference.com to stay abreast of the latest program and ensure they are able to attend Thursday morning to hear from the Minister,” Mr Sclavos says.
The Pharmacy Guild of Australia National President, George Tambassis, says that it is an honour to have the Minister present at Australia’s premier community pharmacy conference and trade exhibition.
“There are many important issues faced by community pharmacy at the moment. We are pleased with the level of engagement from the new Health Minister, and we look forward to hearing from him at APP2017,” Mr Tambassis says.
The APP registration desk will be open from 2pm – 6pm on Wednesday 8 March and from 7:00am on Thursday 9 March to accommodate peak registration periods. Delegates are encouraged to collect their registration to ensure a place at the opening session with Minister Hunt.
APP2017 will run from 9-12 March at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, Queensland. For more information or to register, visit: www.appconference.com
