Capital Chemists get funky for good cause

It was back to the 70s for the Capital Chemist group recently as staff and members of the pharmacy brand got together to raise funds and awareness for an important cause.

“Each year, Capital Chemists host an event designed to combine fun for our teams, while giving back to our community,” says Capital Chemist Wanniassa’s Elise Apolloni.

“Local business and pharma companies also sponsor the evening to assist in raising much needed funds for charities that support our community.

“As some of our teams have been touched by suicide recently, the chosen beneficiary of our event this year was Lifeline Canberra.”

This year Capital Chemists hosted a “Big Night Out Trivia Night” with a disco dress up theme.

“The costumes were hilarious, the trivia questions suitably difficult and the funds raised: enormous,” says Apolloni.

Together with its supporters, the group raised $22,500 which was donated to the local Lifeline branch, which will help them answer over 800 calls.

“Every call Lifeline answers costs approximately $27,” says Apolloni. “What an enormous achievement for 21 tables for trivia buffs!”
